Sadie walked into the barn with jumping bat in hand. SHe was wearing her breeches and tall boots. She always dressed professionally even when teaching a lesson and expected her students to do the same, no matter who they were. She walked into Dawn's stall and brushed her then put on her splint boots. Sadie put on her jumping saddle, but left her halter on. Sadie looked around for Melody but didnt see her yet. Sadie hadnt seen Melody since she left and was excited to see her friend again

Melody hopped out of her mom's car as she got dropped off at the stables for her lesson. She was always told to try and dress proffessionally so she was wearing her best pair of breeches and black riding boots. With her bag on her back she walked into the stable. "Hi Sadie!" She ran up to her friend and gave her a hug. It felt like she hadn't seen her in ages and sometimes it was nice to know that she had a good friend around. Especially after all that had been happening to her lately. Sometimes having older friends sucked though because you didn't get to see them as much. Sadie wasn't just a friend though, she acted as a big sister sometimes for Melody. Having an older brother was nice but it was nice to have an older sister to look up to too.

Sadie finally heard Melody's moms car pull up. She walked out of Dawn's stall and gave Melody a big hug back. "you look good, but do you have your helmet?" Sadie asked. She wouldnt let anyone get on a horse with out one, expecially if the horse was Dawn. "Ok so this is Dawn," she said as she scratched the mare's muzzle. "first im going to have you lunge her and then we can work on jumping" Sadie put Dawn's bridle on and then her halter on over. SHe then attached the lunge line and handed her to Melody along with a lunge whip. "so what haev you been up to, life going ok for you." Sadie was always there for her friends

"Yea I have it right here" She said as she held up her bag for Sadie to see. Melody listened carefully as she watched Sadie strap up the horse's halter on. Melody took her helmet out of her bag and started strapping it on. "Nothing really? Just the same old boring life. You?" She laughed when she said something about her boring life, it was true though. She did have a pretty boring life. She took the lunge whip from Sadie's hand and leaned against the stall door while she finished talking to her.

Sadie smiled. "well i'm sure you've heard, but if I need to I will fill you in, as long as it doent change things between me and you" She walked outside to one of the open rings and opened the gate for Melody and Dawn. "Bring her into a nice walk. We can talk while you lunge her." Sadie leaned against the fence with one foot on the last board and waited for Melody

Mel frowned a little. "Why would anything come between you and me?" She asked with a small smile on her face. Melody listened to Sadie's direction and brought Dawn into a slow easy walk. She walked a little further out of the stall area waiting for Sadie to answer her. She was a little nervous seen she had been in that talk with Jackson and had a feeling that is was something to do with that or be at least a little relatively close to the topic.

Sadie sighed and then looked at Melody. "bring her into and extended walk please" Sadie fixed her breeches that were annoying her. 'well its kind of complicated." Sadie stopped and took a deep breath, preparing for what was about to come. "well I went to his party to see my friends. he ended up hitting me in the head." Sadie watched Dawns movement for a minute evaluating her. "I met this guy there, Mel, Ive never felt this way with anyone before. The only problem, for Jackson that is is that this guy is his best friend and his girlfriends brother." Sadie stopped again and put on some chapstick. "when he walked in Hunter's bedroom a couple days ago, he saw Hunter and I sleeping. On his way out, he thought it would be funny yo spit on my car and put a dent in it."

Mel had completely lost sense of what she was doing by now, she knew that Jackson was having some problems here and there but why did he have to go take it out on other people? It was ridiculous the way he treated Sadie, she didn't care if he hated her she just wanted him to give a little respect! That was it! Yet something so easy never seemed to stop him. "Wow, I'm sorry Sadie." Mel was completely stunned by the explanation Sadie had given her, she looked at her feet in complete disgrace. "I had nothing to do with it. Just make sure you know that" She looked up again waiting for Sadie's response.

Sadie smiled softly at Melody. "do you really think im gonna let a prick like your brother get in between our relationship. You know me better than that Mel." Sadie looked behind her at the barn to see who was here today then looked back at Mel. "bring her into a collected trot please" and then continued to watch Mel and Dawn

"No of course not, I just don't know why he does things like that sometimes. I know him better then my parents and I still don't know him completely" She brought Dawn into a slow trot as she kept talking. It was easy for her to concentrate on her riding even while she was talking because she had been doing it for so long and it was easy to multi-task. She knew that because Dawn was a new horse to her that she should concentrate on riding but now all she could think about was what Jackson had done.

Sadie smiled and then continued. "Jackson is just Jackson. I'm not worried about it." Sadie watched as Dawn trotted, now able to look for any lameness and was pleased to see no signs of anything wrong. "Now let me tell you about Hunter." A huge smiled appeared on Sadies face. "Have you ever met someone and the minute you do, you fall in love. Thats how it was with Hunter, and im lucky that he feels the same. He really cares about me Mel." She thought back to the first time she was actually with Hunter, taking care of the animals, the truck, his hat, and when the became one

Melody couldn't help but think about Andrew the minute she asked if she had ever fallen in love with someone the minute you laid eyes on them. She was glad that Sadie's boy worked out, not that hers had. She would get through it though, no boy would stop her from having a good time somewhere. "Yea I know the feeling. He sounds really good Sadie, I'm glad you finally found someone." She smiled at her. "I definitely do know the feeling" Her mind sort of floated as she became somewhere else with her thoughts and immeadietely drifted back in order not to worry Sadie.

Sadie smiled softly. "thanks Mel. So how is your love life going, anyone around here thats caight your eye?" Sadie sighed softly. She knew Mel had never had the best luck with guys. Hopefully she slould find someone who really loved her. "ok bring her into a canter and after that we can go to the jumping arena and get you on her"

Melody did what Sadie said to do and brought Dawn into a canter while thinking about her answer. "Well there was one boy at school, but it was kind of like you said. That whole love at first site thing, and then one of my friends asked him out. He said yes though." She tried not to look too sad knowing it would just make Sadie feel bad for her which was something she had never really felt she needed, sympathy. She tried to act tough about things sometimes. If she really felt she was in a situation where she needed some extra backup she usually asked for it.

Sadie sighed with understanding. "boys can be such bloody wangers sometimes. Do you need me to kick his ass for you?" she smiled. Sadie always stood up for herself and her friends. "Ok stop her then bring her into the jumping arena. Take the halter nad line off first, I can take them." Sadie knew that Melody had to be focused to jump expecailly on Dawn. She needed to do the best she could.
