Cole walked down the hallway, going the opposite way as compared to the usual lunch rush. Normally, he would be heading off to lunch with the rest of the animals. Only today was different. He needed time alone to work on a new song. The band needed to get ahead and learn something new in case the first record they cut led to another. He got to the student lounge, guitar and notebook in hand, and opened the door slowly. Popping his head in, he looked around to see if anybody was there. Fortunately, he would be alone and have time to do his own thing.
Today, he had been wearing a light blue "hellogoodbye" t-shirt. His tight-ish light blue jeans clung to his legs and his feet were covered with a pair of light blue and dark blue plaid converse slip-ons. His hair was up in a faux-hawk kind of style, something different. He had slid his glasses on just to read the song he'd written.
He took a seat on the lounge's couch and set his guitar on the floor next to him. Taking a deep breath, he opened his notebook and flipped to a song he had been working on. Pulling his guitar into his lap, he began to play a few different chords to try and figure out what would sound good and if the words would fit the melody.

Hia was absent the day before, so she really needed to make up this quiz which would prove to be about half of her semester grade. Hia never was one to let her grades slip through the cracks, at her times in Korea, she was taught discipline and was taught that education came before most anything else. So she decided she would stop by the Student Lounge, grab a sandwich and a water, and then head back down to the Science room so she could finish the quiz.
Hia didnt really dress up too much for school, very often, but she thought today was picture day so she did dress up a wee bit. She wore a kneehigh cutoff denim skirt, and a pair of high heels, which were black and leather. Her top consisted of a longsleeve white button up sweater. Her hair was down and had one medium sized braid running down the side of her face, it had a small green ribbon in it.
She never suspected to see Cole in here, the boy from her Science class as a matter of fact. She entered the lounge, holding a 5 dollar bill in her hand. She turned to look at him, and being the sweet foreign girl she was, she waved and said "Hey there, Coleman.. What are you doing up here?". Little did she know, he had feelings for her, and they were stronger than she would probably ever know, unless of course, he told her.

Coleman didn't even notice anyone walk in as he began to sing the song,
"There's a man dying on the side of the road, Won't make it home tonight. He was driving fast on his cellular phone, That's how he lived his life. And while he was hangin' by a thread these were the final words he said
Chorus; My girl turns sweet sixteen today, She's beautiful, so beautiful. It might get rough sometimes but I hope she keeps her faith.(hope she keeps her faith) I wish I grabbed a chance to say to her Life is too short so take the time and appreciate "
He immediately stopped as he heard a womanly voice. Cole quit strumming his guitar and looked up to find Hia. Man, did she look gorgeous, as always. "Uh, h-h-hey, Hia," he said nervously, "Uh, I was just- I was just, uh-" It seemed like he couldn't get his words out. Instead, he just pointed at his guitar and the lyrics.
He let out a nervous laugh as he scratched the side of his head. "Did you hear it? I mean, the song? Does it sound ok?" What else was there to say. They had hung out at his house before when she met Alan, his autistic little brother. He wasn't too sure how she took it when Alan kept flipping her hair obsessively, but it wasn't all Alan's fault.

Hia smiled at him as he continued to play his music, she got her sandwich and her water from the machine, and she took a seat at the table with him. She knew that he liked her, but she really didnt want to bring up anything about it. She smiled at him as he continued to play and she listened strongly to the lyrics. She twisted the top off of her Aquafina bottled water and took a small sip, smiling..
He then asked her if it sounded okay, it really did sound like it was sent from heaven to her.. She nodded her head.. "It sounds great, Coleman." She said with a smile as she slowly began to unwrap her sandwich from the Saran wrap which contained it.. She was so hungry...

"Well, it's good to know the prettiest girl I know likes it," he said in a bit of a flirty way, "So, what are you doing in the lounge exactly?" He laid his guitar on the couch and walked over to the machine as he awaited an answer and grabbed a bag of chips and a soda. Yeah, not the healthiest choice, but he wasn't too worried about that.

Hia continued to chow down on her sandwich, she raised her head as Cole made the compliment about her being one of the prettiest girls he knew. She could feel her face getting red as she took another slow bite out of her sandwich, she then glanced up at the ceiling fan, and the back to him with a smile. "I planned on just stopping by and getting a sandwich, but I found good company, so I think i'll stay." She said with a grin.
