Melody walked down the dirt road to her neighbors house. She had heard that they moved in and when she talked to her mom about it her mom insisted that they make the new neighbors some banana bread. She did it for all of the new neighbors and after a while it got a little bit annoying because Melody was always the one who ended up dropping it off. She wore a faded pair of blue jeans and a tank top. She walked up to the door of the house and made a quick wrap on the door.

Seth was standing on the back porch with a water hose in hand washing some mud off of his truck in the back yard. He then heard the dog barking, so he knew someone was there. He walked around the porch after laying the hose down. He seen the young girl, and smiled... "Hey, what brings you here, Ms. Frost?".

"My mom made you some bread and she wanted me to drop it off." She smiled at the teacher. He was the FFA Advisor, but she didn't know he had moved here. She didn't really pay attention to the moving of people anymore. When Jackson was alive she did a little because they would always talk about the new people around but now it just wasn't the same.

Seth nodded his head, accepting the bread with another greatful nod.. "Come in, will you?" He asked, knowing this girl had lost her brother, and just being the nice guy he was he walked in the front door, holding the door open for her as he headed inside setting the loaf of bread down on the kitchen table.. "Want anything to drink or anything?"

Vaness peeked out from around the corner, her face with splotches of flour on it. "Hey, honey," she said to Seth, then noticed Melody, "Hello, Melody. Excuse my appearance, I was baking some cookies. Would you like some?" She walked over to the kitchen table and placed a plate of warm chocolate chip cookies on it. Her hair was in a ponytail and her floral dress was covered with a navy blue apron that was also covered in flour. "I've made a mess in that kitchen," she said with a slight laugh, "I'll have fun cleaning it up later."

Melody followed McClintock into his house and into the kitchen. "No thank you." She wasn't very thirsty and she had just eaten lunch. She leaned up against the counter and noticed his wife walk in. "Hi doctor. Sure." She smiled this couple was very outgoing and inviting. She wasn't very hungry but she was definitely hungry enough to eat a cookie, she never turned down home baked foods. She grabbed a cookie off the top of the plate and bit into it. It was still warm from the oven and it was delicious. The chocolate melted in her mouth as she swallowed what she had chewed.

"Would you like a little bit of milk to wash that down, sweetie?" she asked with a smile as she saw Melody take the cookie off of the plate, "It'll be no problem at all, I assure you." Vanessa loved kids. Well, little kids and teenagers alike. She couldn't wait to one day be a mother of her own, but for now she loved to take care of the kids that came by to visit and help them out with their problems.

She thought for a minute about whether she really wanted a glass or not. "Yes please." She finally decided, it was a good idea that even she hadn't thought of. She would be a good mother Melody thought to herself, always thinking of all the good things. She smiled at her.
