Melody was in her room and it was two days after Jackson had died. She hadn't come out her room in days except for the funeral, she wanted to be left alone most of the time and she often waited until everyone was either asleep or no one was home to eat and shower. She liked it better that way because then she didn't have to look at anyone and she didn't have to talk to them either. Her room was a mess from all the food and leftovers she had been eating. There was still residue from some chinese food she had ordered one night that way she didn't have to make herself starve with nothing else in the house to eat.
Patrick had moved all his stuff into Jackson's old room after it was cleaned up and sanatized so there was no blood or anything still around. She had gone down once and talked to him right after he moved his stuff in but since then she hadn't talked to anyone. She noticed that he had been pretty quiet too and he hadn't really been talking to anyone either. It was just the same for him as it was for her, she knew in honesty that Jackson had shared more things with him then she had with her but there were things that Jackson had told her and not told him she was pretty sure too so it was even.
She sat on her bed with her chin resting on her knees which where tucked into her chest and she was tired from crying, she had been this way for all the time she had been in her room. Her hair was down and unbrushed, her curls fuzzy from being wet over night while she slept. There were black circles around her eyes and they were all puffy. She leaned against the wall silently thinking.

Patrick had finally settled down. Hell, some had said that he was more of an alcoholic and drug user than Jackson was, hell for all he knew, the only time Jackson had took a bunch of drugs was right before he shot himself.. So Patrick was a pill popper and an alcoholic? Who wasnt? He slowly raised his hand, which had two loratab high powered tablets in it, and put it up to his mouth, swirling them around as he swallowed the pills, he grabbed a longneck of Budweiser to wash the pills down his throat.. He closed his eyes, with the beer in hand, as he grabbed a cigar, letting it hang from his lips as he took a lighter, lighting it. It took a while for the Cuban cigar to light because it was so large.. He closed his eyes as he took a drag, coughing as he headed upstairs, and then upstairs again, beer in hand, wearing nothing but boxers and a t-shirt as he lightly wrapped on Melody's door.. "Mel, you in there babe?"

Melody heard Patrick knock on her door and quickly wiped away the last of the tears on her face before answering. "Yea...you can come in." She didn't make an effort to move or even try to look good, she didn't care if Patrick saw her like this. It wouldn't be the first time he had seen her like this, when she got upset as a young girl he usuallly saw her then too. Sometimes he even tried to comfort her like he was doing now, he always had felt like a second brother to her. He probably always would too.

Patrick slowly entered the room, finishing off his beer as he chucked it in her garbage can.. He had a high/drunk look on his face as he slowly made his way over to her bed, sitting beside it as he put an arm around her.. "Melody, I know its rough, i'm havin a hard time too, but you was his sister, and I understand that." He said with a smile as his other hand slowly made its way to her cheek as he looked up at her.. "Mel, I'm gonna always be here for ya, through thick and thin, Jackson wanted me to, and I would have anyways." He said in a deep stare.. He meant every word of what he said.. He took a drag off of the cigar blowing smoke into the oppisite direction away from her.. He awiated her reply.

Melody watched Patrick as he entered the room and saw him dump his beer bottle in the trash can, he was definitely drunk she thought. Why did all guys have to handle things by getting drunk and taking pills she thought to herself? She couldn't stand seeing Patrick handling the death by getting drunk and taking pills, that was how her brother had been killed, didn't he get anything! She knew he was just as upset as her and that was why she wondered if he would understand her thinking. She decided not to say anything though despite the anger that was bubbling up inside her.
She sat and looked at him as he placed his arm around her body. "Thanks" She wasn't sure she would be able to really talk a lot without starting to cry again and she didn't want to break down in front of Patrick, no matter how well he knew her. She didn't like to show a lot of emotion in front of other people but this so far had been one of those exceptions that she had broken the goal with. She had already showed some emotion in front of people but that didn't mean she needed to anymore. She sighed and rested her head on his arm.

He might have been drunk, but hell he wasnt a cold son of a bitch, he still had feelings. He smiled at her as he rubbed her arm up and down, looking at her.. "Listen, it'll be okay.. Jackson's a good guy, he can hold his own.." He said with a smile as he rested her head on his shoulder gently again with his hand.. He closed his eyes. Truth be known he really kinda liked her since he had known her,but he was afraid Jackson would kill him if he knew. So he never said anything and he really didnt plan on saying anything this late in the ballgame.. He laid back on the bed, sighing a bit as he looked up at the ceiling.. Closing his eyes.. The Loratabs were kicking in, he was starting to feel higher than a kite, a good way to numb some overbearing pain.

Melody felt really comfortable talking to Patrick, she always had. She had just known him for such a long time that he already had kind of felt like an older brother to her, whether he really was or not. She looked at him for a minute before laying down next to him. "I hope so" She really hoped things would go well from now on, maybe there would be a little less drama around.

Patrick closed his eyes, looking off into space as he put an arm around her, sighing as he rested his head ontop of hers.. He looked down at her.. then looked down at her bare legs.. He then looked back to her.. "You sure you aint cold, hon.." He asked as he slowly pulled her covers over him.. He probably wasnt as stout or as comforting as Jackson, but hopefully he could make up for her loss in Jackson.

She smiled at Patrick a little, she felt better knowing he would be her new big brother. "Just a bit" She pulled the covers over her legs and adjusted her body so she was on her side and looking at him. He had changed a lot since she had seen him last but she hadn't really talked to him a lot since he had shown up. She hadn't had a lot of energy or wanted to put much effort into talking to anyone until right now. "Why did you come back here? You didn't even know Jackson was dead until you showed up"

Patrick raised his head, sighing a bit.. "I guess thangs happen for a reason.." He wasnt gonna tell her the real reason, no.. No.. he wasnt.. god.. dont do it.. But he did.. "Well, truth be known, I got kicked out of the house.." He said with a sigh as he took another drag off of his cigar, flicking his ashes into the trashcan.. He looked up at the ceiling blowing smoke circles with the quickly desinigrating cigar, the pills were kicking in now too.. Mmmmm, joy..

She looked at him when he answered her. How could he possibly have gotten himself kicked out of his own house? She knew he had done some bad things before but what could he possibly have done this time? "Oh... what did you do?" She didn't want to sound nosy but it was a bit hard for her to do when she was so close to him as a friend. She looked down at her hands avoiding his eyes.

Patrick looked down at the ground a bit as he took another drag off of his cigar.. The big brown paper getting smaller and smaller as the tobaccos burned inside of it, letting off a smoky and stinky stinge.. He didnt really mind telling her what he did, he really didnt care at all.. It was as much of her buisness as it was his.. "I got pissed off and beat the shit out of my stepdad.." He said, kinda proudly, hoping to get her mind off of Jackson for the moment.. He looked her over, even as bad as she thought she may have looked, he thought diffrent.. "You're very pretty, you know that?"

Melody laughed a little when he said that he beat the shit out of his stepdad, at least it wasn't worse she thought, Jackson used to beat the crap out of people all the time. Like what he did to Sadie at the New Years Party, she was still upset about that and it made her mad to think that Sadie could have gotten seriously hurt and was lucky enough not to. She looked at him a little more when he said she was pretty. "Thanks..." She couldn't help blushing a little as her cheeks went red.

Patrick smiled a bit, and then looked down at his feet once more.. He then raised his head sighing a bit.. He felt like there was like a billion butterflys flapping in his stomach, but damn, he figured he better tell her incase somthing happened to him at the rodeo the next night. Since he had moved in, he had began to like her more and more than he did before.. And that was alot to begin with.. "Mel, can I tell you somthing?" He said, taking another drag off of the cigar before turning his complete attention back to her.. "For sometime, I have liked you, and I mean.. alot.. I mean.. I dont know.." He said as be began to studder out of nervousness.

Her cheeks went a little redder when he said this and she grinned just a little bit. "I like you too." She had liked him for a year or so but she had never known how he had felt about her and now that she knew it was going to change their friendship a lot. She knew that change was always good but she didn't know what to think about this since it was a big change. He had said for sometime, meaning how long?
