The roar of his dual wheeled, diesel Dodge truck was heard on the gravel roads all over the abandoned coalmines. Pat was wearing his brown cowboy boots, and his tight wrangler rodeo bootcut bluejeans, and his black belt with his large silver, gold outlined beltbuckle with a large golden P in the middle of it and a bullrider in the behind of it engraved. He also wore a sleveless white dixie outfitters t-shirt with a Whitetail deer on the back of it, showing off his muscles, and a black and green John deere hat on his head. He had a can of dip in his pocket, a pack of camel full flavored and a lighter in his side pocket, and his keys, and his cellphone and a pocket knife were also in his junked up pockets.
He opened a beer, holding it between his legs as he drove around the gravel roads, sipping the beer as he looked around, he had a 30.06 Mossberg hunting rifle in his truck along with a spotlight hooked up to his electrical socket, he was going to do some illegal hunting. It was way too late for anyone to be out here and be up to anything good, and that was what Pat was up to, no good.

It was late an yet Cade was out in the old coalmines. People didn't often head out this way, and he liked that. Every now and then he just needed to get away from his entire world and just go somewhere to think and possibly write somethings down. Whatever it took to get things off of his mind. He especially needed this when he got an emotionally draining case. There had been none causing him this grief lately, but he still felt the need to be out here. His instincts just told him that it was best for him at the moment. Cade relied very much on his instinct as they had never failed him before.
Sitting in his black patrol car, he had a notebook and was writing down his thoughts about life, when he heard the loud grumbling of a diesel truck. He couldn't help but wonder why people would do such things to the environment, then he remembered that he was in Texas. The next thought was what in the hell would someone be doing out here this late? The spotlight told him all that he needed to know. He waited for the truck to get closer before turning on his patrol car's flashing lights, and for the effect, the siren as well.

Patrick smirked as he took another swig of his beer, chucking the empty bottle now out of the window as he rolled the window up, taking out one of his father's old cigarette lighters, as gold Zippo, and a camel cigarette from his pack. He lit it, and then laid his pack on the dashboard and slid his lighter back into his pocket.. He pulled over, shining the spotlight on a deer in the woods.. The deer just stood there, he smirked, grabbing his gun, loading a shell and aiming the gun.. He then, as soon as his finger went to the trigger, heard the sirens. He quickly chucked his gun into the passengers seat and gulped, slamming on the gas on his diesel truck, black smoke pouring out of the twin pipes.. He kept thinking to himself.. "Ohhh fuck."

SO there was going to be a chase. Not this was typically Cade's favortie thing to do, however, when it came to his job, he would do just about anything. He got on the radio, and immediately put himself back on the clock, so to speak. "Suspect was attempting to spotlight hunt. I'm pursuit of the vehicle, which appears to be a diesel truck. If I had to guess I'd say it was s dodge vehicle. I couldn't get the license number, but I'm trying to catch up and get closer." Cade pushed the car to the limit, however it was more dangerous for him to do so because his patrol car wasn't made for off-road chaces. Damn, why couldn't he have been there a little longer and have one of the suv's. He would most definately put a request in for that.

Patrick had Hank Williams Jr. blaring on his CD player as the diesel truck roared on, hitting ruts in the road, somthing that a simple measly car couldnt do, however, the car would catch up to him on the road, it would be hard for him to get caught on the backroads.. He looked over to the side and seen a muddy road, he slammed his truck into 4x4 and glared in his rearview mirror, he then drove down the pure mud road, slinging mud and other sediments on his truck, and behind him.. He bit his lip as he looked behind him once more.. He sighed a bit as he reached the end of the road, he slammed the breaks as he reached the gravel road. He put his truck in park and let the engine roar stillyet. He stuck his hands out the window as the sirens and lights blared, he knew he was gonna have to do some time over this.

Cade sped the car a little, pushing it as hard as he could without overdoing it. He wanted to catch the son of a bitch but he didn’t have the desire to see his patrol car ruined. The way things were at the department, he’d have to kiss major ass to even get a new one. Pulling around a slight corner near the end of the road, Cade slowed down, then he saw the truck at a standstill and slowed even more until he was right behind it. He climbed out his car, hand on his gun. He moved ot the window of the truck where he had seen the man’s hands. “I’m gonna need you to step out of the car, sir. I think we need to have a little talk.”

Patrick's heart was racing, sure he had been in trouble with the law before, but this was an unmarked car, and he wasnt in trouble for anything as serious as spotlighting, it was a federal offense because he was on private Coalmine property which he had no premission to be on, hell, it was as easy as paying 50 bucks and getting a permit to hunt, fish and ride on their lands, but he was too cheap, and he liked to spotlight. He sighed as he turned his truck off, leaving the lights on as he opened the door, stepping out of the struck and shutting the door, his boots hitting the gravel below him.. "Is there a problem officer?"

Was there a problem? Most definitely there was a problem. Spotting was illegal, running from a police officer added to that, and Cade had a feeling he would be able to add DUI to the list as well. "Well, I do believe there is, sir. I saw you attempting to spotlight back there. I turned my lights and sirens on and you ran. That's all illegal. First off, I need your license, registration, proof of insurance. I'll also be taking possession of the gun." Cade waited through the normal formalitie, though it had been a long time since he had been pulling people over and checking for things like that. "I'm also gonna need you to take a breathilizer test."

Patrick sighed, nodding his head as he agreed. He stepped out of his truck, and about 12 beer cans fell out with his feet, and looked at the cop, taking another drag off of his cigarette which dangled from his lips as he looked around.. "I'm just trying to get some food for my fucking family man, the fucking store costs too much." It was a lame excuse, but it was half assed true, Patrick got tired of not being able to eat because he and Colton didnt have enough money to buy food and stuff to eat, and they didnt know a good cook. He looked out for his little brother.. He clearly was drunk as he stumbled a little bit. He looked around, and then spotted the beer cans on the ground. He sighed, he knew this was gonna be a long night.

Cade wasn't surprised. He could tell that the man had been drinking. And there was absolutely no way that he was going to feel sorry for him. He could have bought food instead of buying beer. Kincade just had to keep that thought in mind. "I don't care about excuses. I'm not listen to them. I'm just here to do my job. You broke the law, in apprently, three cases. Your now just a part of my job. The gun, please? Set it over there on the ground while I go get the breathilizer and phone in your license number." Cade turned and began to walk back to the patrol car. What a night. He had come out here for some peace and quiet and someone just had to ruin it.

Patrick looked around in a drunken glare, he nodded and slid into his truck and grabbed his rifle, setting it down on the ground beside his truck as he turned and looked at Cade.. "Fucking cops." He said with a quick sigh as he stumbled backwards a bit, falling flat on his ass as he laid there for a minute and then grabbed ahold of a tree and pulled himself up.. He looked around and with a sigh he reached into his truck ,pulled out a pint of Wild Turkey bourbon, and took a giant swig from it.

Cade didn't know what to think about this guy. He had just been busted for evading arrest, DUI, and spotting. And then he had the nerve to sit and drink some more, as if he thought it wouldn't add to the fire Cade had burning. People died because of drunk like this dumbass. He phoned in the location, license plate, and driver license number, then he walked back over to Patrick, taking handcuffs out of his pocket. "You are under arrest for drinking and driving, spot lighting, and evading arrest. You have the right to remain silent, any thing you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You also have the right to an attorney. Should you not be able to afford one, one will be provided for you." Cade looked at the drunk before him. "I'm sorry to do this to you, sir, but you broke the law.
