Sadie walked into the pub and sat down at one of the tables in the back after ordering herself a beer. Sadie had been coming here since she was sixteen and had never had a problem getting served. The owner was a close friend was a close friend of her fathers and always gave her free drinks, plus Sadie had a fake ID just in case. She was wearing tight jeans, a emerald green lace and silk tanktop and black and silver heels. She took out a notebook that belonged to her mother. It had everything you would ever want to know about competing in big shows and Sadie hoped it would help her

Jared pulled up outside the pub on his bike. He climbed off and ruffled his already windswept hair before chaining up the wheel and walking inside. He'd once tattooed the barman so he knew he'd get served, just like always. He crossed to the bar and slid onto a bar stool. He ordered a Guinness and handed over a few dollars extra, just to keep the already genial man sweet. He absentmindedly bit a sliver of skin from around his fingernail while he waited then grinned as his drink arrived. He lifted it carefully to his lips and sipped the froth from the top before pulling out his notepad and flicking through the drawings he'd done that day.

Sadie looked up as the door to the pub opened and she watched as the boy she had never seen before walked in. She watched him for a second then went back to reading the notes. Sometimes she had doubts that she would never be as good of a rider as her mother. But as Sadie drank her beer those doubts began to fade and she reminded herself that she wouldnt of come this far if she wasnt as good or atleast better than her mum. Sadie finished her beer than stood up and walked over to the bar to wait for the bartender

Jared looked up as he felt a rush of air, signalling someone had walked past him. Beside him at the bar was a very attractive young woman. He smiled at her then looked back to his drawings. He noticed a slight fault on the one of his mom so he took the pencil out from behind his ear and corrected it. He was a meticulous perfectionist and couldn't stand anything being wrong with his pictures. He'd been known to start pictures over and over again if just one thing wasn't quite right.

Sadie watched him as he looked through his drawings. Sadie watched then took a seat next to him at the bar. She watched him as he fixed his drawing then spoke. "Im no artist but I think it was fantastic just the way it was" Sadie took a sip of her beer then crossed her legs. "I'm Sadie by the way and you are?" She waited for his response

He looked up at her, listening and half smiled. "Yea, you're probably right." he looked back down at the sketch then ripped it out of the pad and screwed it up. He'd done so many drawings and paintings of his mother that the loss of this one wasn't a catastrophe. He shut the pad and left the balled up paper beside it. "Jared," he said, holding out his hand to her.

Sadie smiled softly then watched as Jared crumpled up the piece of paper. Sadie reached for her notes and kept them in front of her. She didnt want to forget them, mum would kill her. She shook his hand then took another sip of her beer. "Nice to meet you Jared, so what brings you to this charming place today"

Jared took a gulp of his Guinness and shrugged. "Just needed to get out I guess. I been working all day and my eyes are going funny." He'd been tattooing a dragon on a fat guy's back and it had been close up work. To make matters worse, the guy had been a really bleeder too and he'd had to buy a new sponge afterwards. That was another few dollars out of his wages.

Sadie nodded. "yeah I know how that is. I spent six hours at the barn today riding and teaching. I really needed a drink after" Sadie finished her beer off then ordered two shots of Whiskey from the bartender and took those. "so where do you wrok anyways?"

"Ozzy's Tattoo Parlour, just down the street," he replied, proud of his job. He tucked his notepad into his jacket pocket and tucked his pencil back behind his ear. He took a crumpled pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and placed one in his mouth. "Want one?" he mumbled, offering her the open end of the packet.

Sadie nodded. "well that sure explains the artwork. Should of guessed you did something more with it" Sadie took a cigarette and then lit it, taking a drag. "I promised a good friend of mine that I would quit, but hell how can I not if im drinking." Vik really gave her a bitching about smoking but she wasnt sure if she wanted to quit at this point

Jared nodded, took out a lighter and lit his own cigarette. "My mom used to put up a right fuss about it but I think she's come to accept it now." He took a drag and tucked the remaining smokes and the lighter back into his jacket. "She originally didn't want me working in the shop either but it started bringing in money so she quit moaning pretty quickly." He smiled, a rare sight and took another gulp of Guinness."So, you ride horses?"

Sadie nodded. Sometimes she wondered if she did something her mother didnt completly agree with with her life if things would be different. "Accually I'm training for the McClay Finals. Have you heard of it?' The McClay took place in New York but right now she needed to train here

Jared shook his head, blushing slightly. In such a ruralized city, he always felt stupid around people when they were talking about ranches and horses. "I haven't heard of it. Is it a big thing?" He gulped at his drink, trying to hide his ignorance.

Sadie smiled softly. "only the most prestigious of jumping competitions for young riders" Sadie was like the black sheep in Drakesville everyone here was so into thier cows and roping horses. Sadie was an Equestrian. The best of the best. Unfortuantly English riders didnt get much respect here
