Personality: Jared is a kind, quiet person who enjoys the simple pleasures in life. He prefers to listen than to speak and people often get the misconception that he's unintelligent. On the contrary, he's very smart but disagrees with the pressure students are put under in school.
Because he's good looking, he has to put up with women throwing themselves at him. Although he sometimes is greatful for that, when they get to persistant it can be a curse. He can get very cross if women won't leave him alone. On the rare occaision that he meets someone he likes, he prefers to persure them.
He has a pretty quick temper at the best of times but usually manages to control himself before he says something that could get him into trouble. He's always up for new experiences and lives life wishing it was an adventure book but this has often gotten him into sticky situations. When he was younger, he'd agreed to explore an old bomb shelter but the girl he'd gone down there with had accidentally shut them in and they'd been stuck there for 2 days.
He's very loyal, not just to people but to places and things. Once he finds a restaurant he likes, he doen't like eating anywhere else because it makes him feel disloyal. She also hates being late. His mother had always told him never to be late and it had stuck ever since. Being late makes him feel awkward. It's almost an obsession! If he was any more than seven minutes late, he'd rather not go at all.
Appearance: Jared is about 6 foot tall and is very muscular from the sports he plays. He has short dark brown hair which is usually windswept and uncombed. His clear blue eyes are pools of soul and whatever he's thinking reflects in them.
He has 8 tattoos. One is his "Mum" above his heart, one is the words "Love, Truth and Confidence" in a tribal pattern on the front of his right shoulder, one is an Apache design with a wolf, eagle and woman on his left thigh, one is a black swirl with skulls on his left elbow, one is a surfer and wave on his right forearm, one is a mechanical peelback on his left ankle, he has the words "Hope" and "Fear" tattooed across his knuckles and he has angel of death wings on his shoulders and down the back of his arms.
He often wears smudged eyeliner which gives him a dirty, rugged look, emphasised by the stubble on his chin. His favourite clothes are black jeans, smart black shoes, a white t-shirt and a black or green hoodie although he likes a chance to wear a suit.
History: Jared is the first child of Raquel and Antoin Knight. He was born on 7th February, 1989 in Los Angeles, California although soon after his birth his family moved to Serenity Peak. During his childhood, he and his parents lived very comfortably in a large house on the outskirts of town. Jared's father, Antoin, was chief firefighter in the Serenity Peak Fire Department. One normal day he went off to work and never came back. Jared was three and Raquel was 8 months pregnant with their second child. They recieved a call later that evening to say Antoin had died in a warehouse fire whilst trying to rescue a collegue from the blaze. The next year was tough on the whole family. Both sets of Jared's grandparents still lived in LA so his mother had no one to help her through the birth of her daughter, Marie. With another mouth to feed, the family just didn't have enough money to survive. They had to leave their house and move into a small flat above a tattoo parlour. The apartment was squalid and damp but they tidied it up as best they could and made do.
Jared often used to hang around in the downstairs establishment when he was a little older, which was where he discovered his artistic talent. Soon, big tough men were requesting for their tattoos to be done by the 11 year old Jared. However, Jared always dreamed of breaking out and becoming known for his exquisit paintings.
He dropped out of high school at sixteen and started work full time in the tattoo parlour to help his mother pay the rent. He slowly built up his repetoir of tattoos, paying for them by working overtime. Still, he never gave up on his dream of being a painter.
