There were always a few surpizes pulled up the sleeve of Ron, expecially some of the random things he actually knew how to do. That came extra surprizing from a guy like him since it seemed like the guy really knew how to do nothing. One of these small things were the drums. When he was younger he befriended a drummer quite serious into the inturment and the man taught him a few things that's stuck to this day. Usualy when he goes to practice he's around nobody. He tried to get into live preformances when he was younger but always screwed up and never liked it as much as drumming on his own.
In the music room alone, the teachers didn't even know he was there after school as he got two drum sticks and practiced. The song he practiced a lot, including this time, was quite a random one. It was "Lovely Rita" and it was goofy to look at him bang on those drums while carelessly singing such a goofy song.
"Standing by a parking meter, When I caught a glimpse of Rita, Filling in a ticket in her little white book. In a cap she looked much older,"
He didn't even pay attention to who may be comming in and out at the time. Just getting from practice for the basketball team and showering he didn't even bother to put on a shirt and just had a towel around his neck and then blue jeans on. His hair was still damp as well.

Steve didnt like going to class. He prefered to practice his guitar. He walked into the music room with little to no reguard to the boy playing the drums. He walked into the instrument storage room and came out with a guitar case. He opened it and took out the solid white stratocastor(like from waynes world), and plugged it in to the line 6 amp. Since he had tuned it a class before he was confident it was fine. The strape was baby blue and fluffy, the blue matched his shirt and pants.
slowly he turned and in his slightly inebriated state he finally realized the drummer. Although he didnt know the tune, however that didnt stop him from ripping a lead rift for it. He played up and down the penatonic scale, listening to his words and matching the tone the best he could.

As he kept playing he suddenly noticed one of the music guys was in the room but on top of that actually trying to play guitar with him, which was always cool. He was more scared guys like him would get pissed he went into their place and touched all their insterments. Or a teacher that would just get mad in general that he was here, but instead this guy seemed chilling and just wanted to jam so he continued playing but not singing the song anymore.
After he kept a good beat going, he actually started to talk to the guitarist. "You a fan of the Beatles?" That sure didn't sound like a Beatles riff, if anything it was something a bit more modern, but drumming hadn't changed to much since then and it still sounded good with his riff.

Steve smiled, finishing the tune. He hit a few random chords to keep his hands busy. thats how he was, when he had a guitar he had to be doing somthing. He smiled to the guy and nodded "I am a musician, I like music. Cant go excluding one of the godfathers of rock." He said as he played the first few chords for "she loves you". Then smileing a bit more. "Your pretty good, been druming long?" He asked tilting his head curiously.
Personally Steve had been playing guitar for more then 90% of his life. Since he could hold one he was playing with it and singing, it was rare for him to find a good drummer, however a nice change.

"Well yeah I've been drumming a bit but mostly stuff I've tried to teach myself. I learned the basics a while back and kept with it and learned some songs I like... like lovely rita." He then drummed a few techniques to shortly show off a bit but then stopped and continued talking to him. "I haven't been apart of any bands or preformed live and stuff before though. It's mostly just stuff I try to figure out myself." One of the main things he had worked out that he didn't even realize was his ability to keep good timing, which was the first goal of the drummer.
"Probibly been playing like... 6 years or so? Don't go telling everyone this haha." He then smashed a symbol and played a bit of other drumming to practice with. Doing drumming in front of this guy wasn't so bad opposed to stopping if anybody else came in.

Steve nodded "Yea thats cool. hey if you want to be part of one, come check me out at the new years show. If you like my sound your definantly in. Right now its just me" He said with a light smile. Part of him hoped that this boy would take the offer, however the part of him that had been playing solo for years could give two shits less.
"Music is a great escape. Here see if you can keep up" He said before begining to pick a slow, steady intro rift. After a m oment of the beautiful, slow intro it began to speed up. It wasnt as heavy, it was just fast. many high notes and long bends pulled into the song to make it more interesting. Since he wasnt singing he could focus more on playing, and since he could focus more on playing he could wale amazingly fast, nothing godly, but definantly record worthy.

It first took Ron a few seconds to work it all out, screwing up and playing a dumb hits before he really started to get in a simple beat with the snare drum, playing only lightly as he started to understand and keep the tempo they were going at. After that he used a few other drums and one of the symbols to get a good slow beat going.
When offered the band he shrugged. "Yeah sure, I can even try to play on Sunday if you want." He was convinced he could easily do it. Sure he would need a lot more practice but that's what they were doing now right? Plus, as long as they didn't have to travel, doing that sort of thing was fun and a good way to come out. He seemed to think playing the drums was comming out of the closet for some reason, he had a lot to learn about how nobody cared, actually most people would find it cool.
As the tempo got more intense he mostly kept to what he was playing while once in a while playing another thing such as a bass drum or mixing a few things during transitions. They sounded alright but he had a bit of work to do still on it. The important part though was he kept the pace the whole time and never lost his cool, even when he played something dumb and what he shouldn't have.

Steve kept playing the rift, it circled for a while and then after a few full chords, came to a close. He nodded and looked at him "Wow your good. I had a drummer get pissed and walk out on me for that exact rift." He said then laughed. even though the boy seemed new, he had a natural talent. Or at least Steve thought.
He began to play another circling rift, this one soft and beautiful, it was supposed to be played on acoustic, however he didnt care. Steve just nodded "Yea dude, if you want you can set up. It will be fun"

"Probibly better for me to do then overdrinking myself down below." He was going to head to that party that everyone heard of. The cops were probibly going to be quick to break it up later on in the night but generally the bands were a bit younger in time anyway so they could get their songs going and the party going before everyone got to much into their own things. Still, he was a heavy drinker once he got going, and something like this was a good distraction that he knew he needed.
"An extra riff means nothing, just doing the same thing again." From that he crashed a symbol and bass drum suddenly but went back to his normal very slow routine again. One of his drum sticks were switched to one of those soft sticks that were long sticks of medal (lol im bad at terminology sorry) that gave it a more softer sound and he was sure not to do overdo anything.
"Your drummer friend wasn't meant to drum if you can't handle an extra riff. That comes naturally with drumming." Playing a bit more an idea suddenly snapped into his mind. "If we play we really should do one song, the best christmas song. The night santa went crazy. You know the guitar chords at all? It's pretty easy."

((lets not introduce one another, it will be funny at the show trust me))
He nodded "thats what I figured so I smiled and waved as he left" He said and laughed. "Hell yea!" He said to the comment about the night santa went crazy. "the intro is piano but...." He tuned up the high E string and began to play a rift that sounded dead similar. He looked up at the drummer and smiled "Like this?" He said before playing into the verse.

He was about to ask him if he could substitute for using a guitar when he needed to. He didn't think about the piano before but he was never good at inturments past the drums and couldnt name what insturment played what for the life of him if somebody asked about it during some sort of song. Those guys knew what they were doing and as long as he knew, or pretended to, everything went fine. "That sounds good man." He started the slow drum beginning and then at the right time started to sing the lyrics he could remember.
"Down in the workshop all the elves were making toys For the good something girls and the good something boys When the boss busted in, had a rifile in his hand cheap whiskey in his... hand
From his beard to his something he was covered with ammo like a big fat something something rambo And he smiled as he said With a twinkle in his eye
merry christmas to all... NOW YOUR ALL GONNA DIE!"
So he didn't get all the lyrics but he still remembered a bit of it off his head.

Steve smiled during the lyrics, they always made him laugh. Then he went up after the chorus and began to sing
"The workshop is gone now, he decided to bomb it everywere youll find peices, of cupid and comet and he tyed up his helpers, and held the elves hostage then he ground up ole rudolph into RAINDEER SAUSAGE"
Before the next verse he tied the verses with his own bridge
"He got dancer and prancer, with an old german luger and he slashed up dasher just like freddy kreuger. then he picked up a flame thrower and he bar-b-qued vixen and took a big bite and said it tastes just like chicken!"

As they finished the song he ended it off with the classic symbol clash and then laughed. "Holy shit man, I think your the only guy I met that actually knows that song, let alone off by heart. I donno if you study lyrics on your spare time or somethin' but I wish I had a memory like that." He had already forgotten this guys name, he didn't even remember an introduction, but he forgot that quite often and people got mad at him after if he repeated that whole conversation, so he just avoided asking his name again.
"How much more weird al you know?"

steve laughed and shook his head "Nah I dont study pointless lyrics. Just songs I like. How could I not like the single greatest christmas carol in the world!" He said and laughed. Then at his next question he thought for a moment. "I know most of the tv album, and running with scissors, and I know alot of the food album as well, but not all of it." He said and nodded "Weird al is a funny guy." He said and laughed "somtimes I find myself laughing at the lyrics, especially "Headline news""

"Running with scissors was his best album by far," Nobody else asked him his opinion before on Weird Al so this was his first time stating it, most didn't know that he actually knew that guys albums better then most artist. "Hey, wanna hear something funny 'bout Weird Al? My exgirlfriend keeps flooding my message inbox with dumb lyrics to stupid country songs so I sent her back One More Minute by Weird Al so she hopefully gets the point." It was probibly just going to start a lyrics war in their inbox but he didn't realize that. Plus it was the perfect lyrics to send back to her.
