"Yea, deff cowboy type." She laughed to herself, saying that he was a cowboy type brought back so many memories that made her laugh. It felt like the first time she had laughed since his funeral and she couldn't help but think of all the things they had done together right before he died, like the whole car thing when he had let her drive home. She had gotten used to driving places even when she didn't have her license, she still hadn't gotten caught. She didn't plan on getting caught either.

He smiled at her laughter. He sighed, still half smiling. "I wish I'd kept more contact with people from school. I spend most of my time alone now." He took a long drag on his cigarette then looked back at her, the smoke drifting away into the sky. "So if he's a cowboy, what does that make you?" he asked, grinning.

She listened to him as he talked not even looking at him. She had a weird way of being able to be thinking about something completely different and still being able to hear what he was saying, she could comprehend what he was saying even while she wasn't paying her complete attention to him. She turned her head and looked at him. "I have no idea, most people say I'm just as much of a cowgirl." Her expression was a little blank, she didn't use stereotypes very often so she hadn't really thought about her own stereotype before.

He grinned and took a drag on his cigarette. "I'm not really into all the rural thing. I'm a townie through and through." He chuckled, thinking about the one time he'd tried to ride a horse. "I'm not good with any animals except my goldfish..."

Melody laughed, that was what a lot of people told her when she said that she was a cowgirl and that she lived on a farm. Her farm was one of the biggest in the town and yet there were plenty of people who had no idea that there were really any farms in the town at all. It made her laugh, the different types of people that lived in this town always stayed with there own typed and it amazed her how people didn't know anything that was going around the town unless it was in there stereotyped group.

They sat in silence for a little while, Jared finishing off his cigarette and stubing it out. It wasn't an awkward silence. Jared glanced over at her again and smiled. "So I guess you're pretty good with horses then?"

"Well most people would say that but I still have a lot to learn." She smiled, she knew this wasn't true but she didn't want to sound completely full of herself and sound like she thought she was better than everyone else. She was a really good horse rider and she knew pretty much all there is to know but there would be things that came up every once in a while that she wouldn't know how to do and it would suck for her to learn them.

Jared nodded and looked out across the horizon as the last rays of sun disappeared. He sighed and stood up. "It's been really nice talking to you but I gotta get off now..." He hung around for a second before walking back to his bike. He took his notepad out of his pocket and placed it in the under-seat boot. "Hopefully I'll see you around..." he called, before kicking the ignition into life and powering off.

"Yea maybe" She watched as he got onto his bike and started it and went on his way. She sat and looked out at the sun that was almost completely gone now. She was there until it had fully dissappeared and then decided that she should probably get home that way if her mom went into her room to check on her she wouldn't find her gone.
