It was Dae's shift to work and she was absolutely bored, she didn't hate working there, only on the days that it was slow. When people were here and there were a lot of them then it got interesting because people had the same interests as her and they were fun to talk with. Some of the people that she saw come into the store had these really cool gadges, she had thought about getting one some once but her brother really didn't want her to because he said it would ruin the complection of her "pretty" face. She really didn't care what he said because it was her face and not his but something had really hit her in the head and she had changed her mind.

It wasn't normally his style, but Jax liked to check out the t-shirts in Hot Topic. It also, on occasion, afforded him a little something extra to throw into his "second job". Usually those investments repaid themselves handsomely and he really needed a lil extra money right now. In just an open-shirt black button-down and faded jeans with black, studded belt, he casually glanced through the material when a familiar face slid into his viewpoint. Trying to place it, he walked over to the counter girl and slowly smiled. "Fae? You work here?!"

Fae was just humming to herself when she saw Jaxon walk into the room, he didn't seem like the type that would hang out in this kind of store but obviously she didn't care who came in here because it was a cool store. He walked up to the counter when he noticed her. "Yea, I do." She couldn't help but let a small laugh, he had acted so surprised when he found out. Most people didn't know she worked here but worked the odd shift so no one really was around when she worked.

Jax grinned, obviously a little self-conscious. He wasn't expecting to run into anyone he'd known here, let alone someone who worked here. Makes it a bit more difficult to buy the requisite items if he came across them. Then again, maybe a little bit of help from her might be useful. He never had female input when putting together a new outfit. "That's cool. I guess it shouldn't surprise me, much. I mean..." biting off the end of that sentence, hoping it wasn't terribly offensive. Just another stupid stereotype he angrilly berated himself as he smiled. "Guess it gives a hell of a discount, doesn't it?" he asked foolishly, suddenly a little anxious. He saw a collar and cuffs that might serve something ... barbaric and that'd work very nicely. Some of the good tipping girls might pay handsomely to have him on a leash for a few minutes.

((Haha, sorry the whole thing about putting a new outfit together is kind of funny though)) Dae was pretty sure that when he said that he didn't mean anything terrible by it, she knew that the way she dressed and acted would make it so that many people could guess that she worked here. "Don't worry I totally know what your saying" She thought about his question for a minute, yea, that was kind of true. She had often gotten discounts on things. "Yea, I do get a lot of discounts. So, do you need any help with anything then?" She noticed him looking at a collar and some cuffs. She didn't say anything because she usually made something that wasn't supposed to sound rude, actually sound really rude.

Jaxon couldn't hide the glimmer of a grimace as she pointedly looked at the two pieces he had noticed. His color even paled slightly as he considered the young teen asking him. Relax, Jax. She's just trying to do her job. She doesn't have to know what it's for, right?[i/] he pondered a second, trying to come up with a convincing lie.
"Well, honestly, I could use a little something. There's a... frat party coming up that a friend of mine invited me to. Told me to come in some sort of costume. And.." unable to hide a faint blush, "Was thinking of maybe some sort of captive barbarian thing... the collar and wrist bands looked.. just the thing, ya know? And maybe some chains or something. Something hot that some of the chicks might dig, right?" He was pratcially squirming at the end of that.

Dae was listening to him talk but she wasn't looking at him, that helped her to focus on what he was saying more than how he was saying it. Just as he finished his sentence she looked up at him and there was just something about the way that he was looking at that didn't feel right. Ignoring her senses she went back to her job, it wasn't her business what he was going to do with the item as long as he bought it. So instead of ragging on him she just decided to answer nicely. "Oh, thats sounds cool. The girls will probably like that, yea." She felt really weird saying that and grimaced at a thought that she had.

He visibly frowned now, realising that things had gotten off a bit. "You're not just nodding your head and saying yes, right? I was hoping for an honest opinion from a woman and hope you're willing to put aside your salesmanship to be honest with me here. I'm valuing your opinion here." Jax tried to level a gaze at her, hoping she'll come through a little more honestly when she focused on him. He didn't trust people who wouldn't look at you when you spoke to them.

Dae sighed, okay she thought. Just tell him the truth. "I do think it would look cool, but your kind of a prep and..." She twisted her mouth, she really didn't want to sound like she was being stereotypical. "I just don't how you would look." She frowned. Not knowing what else to say she waited for him to reply, hoping he wouldn't be mad at what she had said.

Jax couldn't help but laugh a little, the tension easing somewhat. "Touché, Fae. I know it's out of character for me, but that's what a costume is about, right? I'm hoping that this will put a bit more masculinity to me. Make a few of the women there swoon a little harder than usual." His mouth clamped shut at that, his heart beating a little faster as he almost let it slip. "I know it's your kinda thing, but... is there any way I could return them if it doesn't work right? If it doesn't really look that good on me?" His mouth twisted somewhat as he tried to figure someone who'd actually be able to give him that kind of input.

"Yea, I guess your right. That is kind of the point to a costume" She laughed thinking about how she would look in a preps costume. "It will definetly make you look more masculine, thats for sure" Her eyebrows raised a little as she said that last thing. She tried to imagine Jaxon actually wearing the collar and cuffs but her imagination wasn't very deep at the moment and it was nearly impossible for her. "You can return them yea."

He smiled a little more relaxed now. "Now to find someone willing to make that kind of a judgement before I go out in public like this." He fingered a couple of the collars, looking at a matching set with 3/4 inch spikes on them. He licked his lips nervously as he tried to imagine what kind of routine he'd try to work into it, getting lost in the thought for a moment, not realising she was still looking at him.

Dae was still looking at him when his stare kind of went into more of a gaze. A shiver ran up her spine as she watched him lick his lips. "Well I don't know who you're really friends with so you're gonna have to do that yourself" Dae had actually thought of buying one of those cuffs with her discount but she wasn't sure if it would look good and she didn't want to look really bad or anything. She was pretty sure that Jaxon would give her an honest opinion so she decided that she would ask him. "Hey, if I bought one of those cuffs to wear do you think it would look okay?" ((Have you ever owned one of those in real life? I have one, but I don't wear it like everyday or anything))

Jaxon's attention got caught up short as he looked back at her and grinned a little. "Oh, shit. I don't... none of the girls I know'd be... right, for that kind of an honest opinion. Not the sort of thing most of the, er, preppy gals go for. You know?" He eyed here a little, giving a bit of a look up and down as if he appraised her a bit. "Would you be wearing these just usual or did you have something particular in mind about what you'd wear with them on?" Jax stepped back to get a more full view of the young teen in front of him.

Dae hadn't actually thought about that aspect of his problem, he was right though. Preppy girls would either lie or tell him looked like a goth, like her for example. "Yea, I never really thought of it that way. Oh I would just wear it with my normal clothes. I'm not big on putting actual outfits together unless I'm going somewhere special." She had been leaning over the edge of the counter for a few minutes now and she stood up straight to keep her back from hurting later in the day. She waited for his response with she cracked her knuckles, another one of her bad habits.
