He looked up as two guys walked into the library, and it was obvious that he wasn't the only colored person in the town. Sean was starting to get worried that he might have been the only person in Drakesville that was of African descent. His eyes moved from the boys back to Candace, his attention shifting back and forth as the guys made their way through the library, loudly. He tilted his head towards them, acknowledging them asking Candace.
"You know them?"
He was a bit curious because it was obvious that the one was trying to get her attention. His eyes looked from the boys back to her as he scooted the chair back across the carpet away from the table. Now, Sean wasn't a small person. He was short, granted, but he wasn't weak and it was away from this mess that he had moved from. Gangsters and thugs wandering around the town, looking for respect, dealing here and there. It was away from this that he had moved the family away from. His brown eyes shifted once more before settling back on Candace. [/color][/blockquote]

Candace looked at sean and gave a tiny shrug. She honestly had no idea who they were. "Nope, no clue"She told him with a smile. To Candace, it didn't matter your height or weight in a fight for respect or to win a physical one. To her, it was not using a weapon and being able to stand your ground even if you loose that made you a winner. Guys that used weapons for every single fight were pussies and if it was needed then yeah but when it's not then... your a little bitch basically. She flashed Sean a smile
(sry so short)

Well if she didn't know them, then neither did he. Sean scooted back up to the table, his eyes on his hands, trying to think of something to say. He didn't like those awkward silences that made him feel like he was being srutinized underneath a microscope, so he tried to avoid them at all costs. He turned his attention away from the boys, though they were making quite a racket in the library. Libraries were meant for silent reading and studying, granted, thats not what he and Candace were here doing, but still.
"Oh. You asked if I had ever been to Georgia before. No, I haven't. I've never been out of Chicago until I moved here."
His words were smoothly articulated, spoken like he had been schooled in proper grammer for years upon years, rather then growing up in the ghetto, surrounded by hoodlums and crack addicts. His boys were convicted felons back home and in the apartment building that his family had lived in, there were busts on it every two days. The cops would come and clear out one dealer, hauling them off to jail just opened the doors to another drug lord to move in and open up operation. That was life to him until now.
